Students Celebrate National Batik Day
The participants of the event performed many things, such as a Caping dance performed by the olders in the village of Girilayu, then there was a batik dance performed by 4 of the teenagers from the village and also a mini fashion show using batik cloth which was held by 10 Girilayu village children and 2 members of KKN students from Unisri. Not only that, the event also held a 10-meters cloth batik event called Candi Drajad. This was the main point of the event.
Based on the committee of the event, one of the KKN students said that the event was quite successful considering that they only had a week of preparation time. They were grateful to see the residents who were very enthusiastic about the first event they held.
"We as the residents of the village of Girilayu are happy, thanks to the KKN students who came we were able to experience an event like this which is certainly very entertaining for the residents," said one resident of the village of Girilayu. “The event was very fun and educational. The national batik day is more precious than the previous years,” another added.
