UNS students experience traffic jam across the front gate
Sebelas Maret University students who went home through the front gate experienced a traffic jam on October 5th, 2022. The traffic jam occurred following the closure of Jurug Bridge B in September 2022.
The closure of Jurug Bridge B was reportedly because of the reconstruction planned by the city government. The reconstruction is estimated to last until earlier next year, in January 2023, and therefore the traffic diversion must be done.
One of the students revealed that there was a really long line of vehicles going towards the Jurug bridge. The students usually saw the packed road ahead of the university's front gate during the afternoon.
"I experienced the traffic jam when I was about to go home through the front gate, usually around 3pm in the afternoon. It was so packed, and it's quite hard to cross the street because the vehicles barely moved no matter what the traffic sign is on," a student said.
On the other hand, one of the students who went home through the back gate stated that he did not experience such a traffic jam. He claimed, “Well, the road across the back gate is crowded in the afternoon, but I have never experienced any heavy traffic jams.”
